Questions and answers!

What is Line-Dancing?

Hopefully it is when class members stand in straight lines and dance the same steps at the same time and all facing the same direction!!  Technically, dance routines are repeated to a track of music turning to face, front, back and/or side walls of the hall.

What do I wear?

The most important thing is comfortable, supportive footwear.  Trainers are not advised and stilettoes are a definite no-no!  Comfortable clothing which is non-restrictive and allows the body to breathe.

Is it all Country-Western?

No. These days we dance to a wide variety of music.  Country Western, Latin American, Pop, Funk, even Opera!

What are the benefits?

Line-dancing benefits:

Mind

Aids memory, sharpens reflexes and teaches the brain focus and discipline.

Body

Line-dancing is aerobic, load bearing exercise - you choose how energetic you would like to be.   It improves co-ordination, builds stamina and increases flexibility.  Helpful for arthritis, poor bone density, high blood pressure and asthma - do get doctors advice first.

Soul

Socializing with like-minded people, the feel-good factor of dancing to music all helps to leave the stress and strain of everyday life behind.

Do I have to book?

No,  Dancin' Lines Classes are pay on the day!  All classes use the same terminologies and teaching structure and are interchangeable - if you miss Tuesday morning beginners catch the  Tuesday evening beginners class.  This way all dances are covered in all classes which make the social evenings more enjoyable as most students will know most dances most of the time!

Does it cost to be a member of Dancin' Lines Line Dance Club?

No. Membership is free.  Just fill in a form with your details.  Membership gives you entry to Club Socials and priority when booking our weekends away.
